I just got my replacement system yesterday and a free upgrade core2duo. The system is brand new , not a refurbish one.

Here are some picture compared to my old Samsung LCD with my new LG LCD. The screen quality on my samsung is the worst i've ever seen after i compare to LG. The LG screen is brighter, better contrast and saturation. That's the reason why i always feels that my samsung lcd doens't produce the right color for the screen and sometimes i feel the brightness of the screen isn't enough. More over, if you look close to the screen you'll see some tiny patterns of grey dots through the screen that distorts the white color display.

Note: Left is LG and right is Samsung. Everyscreen is set at Max brightness.

instead of turn out black color it turns out dark blue , may be the camera's Whitebalance settings didn't recorgnize the light condition.

The brightness white color display of Samsung after 5 months is that bad???

The light leakage of each laptop are different from eachother. I wonder what kind of backlight technique did they use.

those must be WUXGA's. They are glossy.

Pretty interesting comparison. It also looks like the color on Samsungs is more uniform while LG has some bright/dark spots...

there have got to be samsung screens out there much better than that. I am waiting for a replacement and this worries me. I think from what Ive read a samsung can be better than the LG just depends on what you get.

    cheers

OMG, i'm really worried about my LCD brand too. I've just bought an E1705 and i'm crossing the fingers to got a nice LCD.
Anyone know if Dell still working with Samsung? Or today only with LG?

just got my 1705e today and it came with a Samsung. It does have some light leakage....but I have no idea if it's bad or not....which means it probably isn't that bad. Color is fantastic and the whites are freaking white.

not sure what else to say. hope this helps you guys

blurry is not a screen problem

    1. run at native resolution
    2. set dpi to 96
    3. enable cleartype
