Eh, new here. And sorry if this isn't the right spot to post a queshtion or something. @.@ This place is a little confusing.

My Dell laptop got a crack in the screen - so I ordered a replacement, hooked it together ( made sure the wires were in check, mind you) and the LCD lights up, but there is no display, and my laptop isn't locked.

Is it time to send back for a new screen?

Try using the CRT/LCD button (Fn + F8 on my M1210), and recheck all the connections. If those don't work it is probably a dead screen.

try connecting it again. its hard to say if its the screen or improper installation.
