    Screen goes blank

    I have an Inspirion 1505e laptop. Yesterday I turned the computer on and had a 1 second redish colored sceen that showed my computer start-up sceen then the sceen went blank. Computer is still running in the background but no screen. I hooked up an external monitor and received the same results.

    I think the video chip on the MB has gone out. Am I correct.

    Yes, most likely the video card on the motherboard is bad.
