I have considered ordering a Vostro 1500 for a long time - most of which I spent following the discussions about the pros and cons of this particular notebook.
As I'm no good at writing long explanations, let me cut to the chase:
Is there (in your opinion or based on facts) a distinguishable trend concerning the quality of recently shipped Vostros/Inspirons displays? Has the shipping of "grainy" screens waned? Could it be possible that Dell is using only quality screens (e.g. LG) now, possibly explaining the further delay (at least here in Europe/Germany)? Just to clarify things, I'm talking 15,4" WXGA+ and WSXGA primarily.
Your opinion is wanted, maybe we'll all get good screen sooner or later :D

Is your AUO one of those assembled in the Dell 1xx0 series or another, how can i put this, "generation" of AUO screens? Because it seems that the bunch Dell received isn't that good, reports vary from mild to heavy grain on every screen...
But come to think of it, I associated LG with nothing but "anti-grain" when I wrote the first post ^^
Could someone elaborate on this subject? How do the different brands compare, graininess aside? I think Dell used Samsung, AUO and LG displays on Vostro/Inspiron.

PS: Oh boy, I sound like a question-talker. I'm having a really strange day, so please forgive my sentences and my grammar...after all, I _AM_ german :p
