I've had this laptop for about 9 months now, and about a week ago I noticed a little black line a few pixels long that would not rub off. I assumed it was dead pixels, so I called Dell and they sent out a box for me to send it in.

However, since that time a week ago that black spot: turned, went from being midscreen to being on the taskbar, and is now completely gone. I guess it was some piece of material stuck beneath the glass. Problem solved?

Almost. Now there are white spots in two groups about an inch apart along the upper half of the right edge of the screen. They are visible on any light background, but seem to completely disappear on a dark background.

Has anyone else seen this before?

Your LCD connection is probably loose.

Just popped the panel off and checked the display connectors; both are securely in place.

I'm hesitant to send this in for a screen repair if it isn't the panel itself that is screwing up, as I don't know if I'd get a 'good' panel back..
I keep weighing whether I'd rather have a near perfect screen with few dots or an entire grainy screen with backlight bleed and no dots.

Btw: The dots change in visibility based on the angle I am looking at the screen. In fact, if I tilt it away from me at just the right angle the dots seem to completely disappear.
