    Screen not working on Dell Inspiron 1300

    I just bought a laptop from ebay. When I turn it on, you can see the monitor flash, but it won't come on. Does it need a new screen? You can hear the rest of the computer start up, the dvd drive spins, and what not, but the screen will not come on.

    If the screen flashes and then immediately flashes off, it's most likely the screen or the inverter. You can get screen/inverter combos on eBay for $50-$80.
