I was looking at a compaq x1000 notebook with a wxga screen and thought it was very good looking and sharp but then I looked at a dell 1100 with xga and it looked awfully pixelly even though I made sure the settings were the same (cleartype, resolution, etc). Are there other factors that make a difference between laptop screen quality like video cards or anything else? I want to buy an 8600 but I want to make sure the screen is decent looking before I purchase(and I don't want sxga). Thanks

get one with samsung lcd, I still recommends getting WSVGA and just adjust the font size if too small, you can put 2 screens side by side instill of tileing them etc. to check or look at 2 different screens. DVD movis look better too.
