Okay so i do not know much about computers at all... But i have a inspiron 6400 and this has never happend other then today... About every 2 mins the screen goes dark.. not black but only things i can make out are very light color things... and i have trouble even doing that... i can make it go away by shuting the screen and letting it hibernate... Or by pressing Fn / f8 But thats geting old... Anyone have any clue/tips or any idea what i can do to fix this?

Sounds like your backlight or inverter is going south. If it's the inverter, you're in luck; it's a pretty easy do-it-yourself replacement. If it's the backlight itself, that will be trickier, and you'll probably end up needing a whole new display.

How can i figure out if its the inverter or the backlight? or do i just have to start simple and work my way up? If it helps at all when i start the screen back up (Or what ever you want to call it)... Its makes kinda a buzzing beeping ish sound.. lol

First question; still under warranty?? If so, I'd probably recommend you get Dell to do it.

Oh, and no bumps before 24 hours please ( see forum rules); this is a free forum where you should not expect service on tap.
