My screen on my 13 5000 when all white this morning and I had to boot about 15 times to get into the system. I did a bunch of on board diagnostics and nothing showed up. I am typing on this now but the screen is flickering every now and then. The system is just acting not right. Any ideas what this could be? I was working fine all along with no indication of anything going wrong. Just opened it up today and had these issues.

NO point, it's been out of warranty for 2 plus years. I think I will see what I can come up with. I would say it's the connecting cable.

Does it flicker more when you move the panel back and forth? It sounds like what happened to my old X230, the panel failed and had it replaced.

Good luck. You seem to have a great track record getting your money's worth out of these machines. Please share the solution!

Will do. This is the first issue I had with any notebook from dell, or anything besides asus which were total crap. I think it's the cable between the monitor and the motherboard. We are going to have a peek in the next day or so to see what's up.

Whelp it's an issue with my display not the wiring. I ordered a new notebook today. A Dell 5406. I think my husky jumped on my old notebook and damaged something. The good thing is now I have an 11th gen i7 1185g7 chip instead of the 4405g chip. Worth the upgrade.
