In the D620 review, it is written that
Is it realy the case that the touchpad of D620/D630 does not have a vertical scroll area in its right side?

The D620 does not have a dedicated separate scroll area, but there is an option in the trackpad setup to enable vertical scrolling.

Like Shang said, you are able to config. your D620 for veritical scrolling. and i have done so, but it doesn't pick up everything that well.

Technically any touchpad can have a vertical and horizontal scroll.

Since the vertical and horizontal scroll are software controlled, its just a matter of a configuration setting. The author of that review probably assumed that just because the D620's touchpad doesn't have a scroll area "sticker" like the Inspirons, he just assumed that there isn't one. IMO the lack of the sticker is one of the Latitude's strengths; it follows its design as a sleek yet non-flashy work notebook.

I use Linux, and don't know where the settings are in Windows, so it might take some searching if its not set by default. Its definitely possible to designate any part of the touchpad for scrolling (the linux driver even has a circular scrolling feature, which is pretty cool). To help you with this search, try looking for "Alps" or "Synaptics" touchpad and locating where the configuration options are.
