    Seagate clicking harddrive sound.... :(

    :confused: i have this Seagate Momentus 7200.2 ST9200420ASG - Hard drive - 200 GB 7200rpm.. on my m1330... i have my laptop for few week now
    but not until tonight i hears some clicking noise...
    is anybody with this HDD have same problem?
    is it since the first time i have this laptop or just occur because i installed any software or changed any setting?
    i read a thread about NHC software i not try it yet but hope it gonna work

    Yeah, I have the clicking sound too. It isn't a big deal too me as long as the hard drive works. It is completely normal as long as SMART doesn't detect a hard drive failure, which is unlikely in your case.

    Some hard drives will make a slight clicking noise when parking the heads. If it is a constant clicking noise then there could be a problem. Maybe someone else with this drive can chime in and tell us if it is normal.

    edit: Looks like merlin_72032 has confirmed it for you. Remember to always keep current backups, even if you are not having problems.

    its not a constant clicking noise... (thx God...) so i think iam ok....
    but when in quite environment it abit too noisy....
    What is the normal (interval) time for a HDD to park head... (ie i just using mylaptop for surfing)..?
