I have looked in a lot of forums and in many search engines: might have missed it but thought I would still try and ask on this forum...

Everytime my NHC opens up my LCD brightness goes to zero... I have vista 32bit and an xps 1530. I only have NHC to keep my harddrive from ticking like crazy, it worked there but I don't know if I can deal with changing the brightness constantly, is there any way to fix this...? Thanks in advance.

I've not that problem. But you could try disabling ACPI functionality in NHC (ACPI tab in settings). Also make sure you have the special Dell version of the latest release.

Goto display part of the NHC, and play with the %'s on the bottom right corner.

I think it should be lower to get the LCD brightness higher.

    Has anyone found a solution?

    Hi,
I have a Sony Vaio laptop but I have exactly the same issue with NHC. It pushes the brightness always to minimum when I'm running the pc from the battery. I tried to disable the ACPI but it doesn'"t help.

    Thanks,
    Tex

Have you tried going into the control panel and adjusting the power / battery settings?

You should be able to force the computer to stay at full brightness or whatever you like - no matter what mode you go into.
