Just called the dell service hotline (Germany) because of my grainy screen in the Inspiron 1520. They said, that they don't know the problem so far and in order to replace my screen, they need photos of the grainy screen first. I tried to take some but I can't do it with my cam.

So my question: Has anybody pictures of the "grainy screen", where the effect is noticeable?

    Thanks a lot,
    Martin

Try to take a pic of your system under direct sunlight. you may notice the "graininess" than taking it indoors.

Please post links as I've seen only low quality photos and photoshop "simulations" of graininess :)

It is not your responsibility to provide the proof. Presumably you just received your notebook, and therefore you still have your "cooling off period". It is their duty to investigate the problem.
