I'm using Dell Inpsiron 1526 with 160 GB HDD (5400 RPM I think). I want to upgrade it to higher capacity.

Can you tell me if Inspiron 1526 has extra bay for 2nd hdd. If yes, can I use the 160 GB HDD with the new HDD i buy(I'm thinking to buy Seagate Momentus 7200 320 GB).

If its possible to add 2nd hdd, what extra accessories will I need? I mean the caddy, cables, etc.

    Thanks.

    -Mahesh.

By default the 1526 doesn't have space for a second HDD.

However, if you don't need your optical drive, you can usually DIY a second HDD into the optical drive bay. There's a couple threads floating around the board detailing the procedure...

Thanks for the reply. I checked the lappy and found there's just one cabby. I think I'll buy 500 GB to replace 160..
