Hi everyone,
I've recently bought a Dell Precision M2300 (my first dell) and was considering buying a secondary battery replacing the dvd drive. I went to the Dell website and they are selling these batteries at $199, which is quite a high price. I've searched ebay and couldn't find any for the M2300 but found a few for the latitude D630. Since the M2300 is quite similar to the D630, I was wondering if these batteries are compatible with the M2300. Can anyone help me with this? The batteries I'm getting are quite cheap. I could buy one and see if it works. If it doesn't the loss is not that high. However, I'm afraid it might damage the laptop if they are not compatible. Can anyone help me with this?
Kind regards,

This one is apparently compatible with both the M2300 and D630

Yes it is compatible as the M2300 is identical to the D630. Also I'd try searching for D620 or D820 d/bay batteries, they are ALL the same. In fact, they have been the same since the beginning of the Latitude D series starting with the D600 and D800 - the optical bay batteries will work in all Latitude and Precision notebooks. That is the beauty of the D/bay. Smart move.
