While I was trying to Alt-Right Arrow to go forward a page, I accidentally hit Fn-End, and the Quickset indicator showed my sound had been muted.

After some more poking around, I've found these other functions:
    Fn-End: Mute
    Fn-Page Up: Volume Up
    Fn-Page Down: Volume Down
    Fn-F10: Eject CD/DVD drive
    Fn-Esc: Sleep

These are probably all mentioned somewhere in the manual, but who actually reads that thing? ;)

    Edit: I just found this one on accident:;
Fn + WinKey + Left Alt+ Left Arrow and then when holding those, press Right alt: Brightness Up

Edit 2: I found these by working off the last find:
Fn + WinKey + Left Alt+ Left Arrow + Right Alt and while holding press Prnt Scrn: Mute
Fn + WinKey + Left Alt and while holding press Right alt then left arrow then Delete: System Properties

They aren't mentioned in the manual, but they are legacy features in Quickset for old Inspirons... Like my i5160 I just replaced had all those keys mapped on the keyboard, but the i1520 doesn't since they put the media buttons on the front to replace them.

That's what I figured happened, it's weird that they don't mention it though, I think I'll use the Fn-F10 one alot.

Yea same here... Got very used to it on my old i5160... It is also one I don't think they need to hide as they didn't replace it with anything...

If you want the lappy to sleep just tell windows to sleep when the screen is closed. Then close the screen.

Good thing for us who have hibernate instead of sleep on the power button.

Then there is fn + 'any numpad key' that carry over from desktop keyboards, which give the functions of Home, page up, page down, up down, etc.

EDIT: fn f10 doesn't work for me either..

Tried it out on the Vostro, everything is the same except Fn + f10 for me is just like alt tab, doesn't eject the drive.

Check if you have the latest Quickset. I noticed some of the hotkeys are not listed in A04. They are by no mean hidden at all. Check the Quickset/Display/Hotkey and you'll see them all. Attached is from my Quickset A05. It is the latest version of Quickset for Vostro 1000/1400/1500 as well as Inspiron 1420/1520... etc).

    I see.....
So that QS on the taskbar I disable everytime I the computer restarts is what makes fn+f10 work

So now fn+f10 works, but the quickset thing only displays the following:

Funny: Fn-F10 opens ALL drives (I have a second drive connected through USB).
