    hi,

I'm selling my notebook and want to clear all the data, although i can format this, there is a big issue of identity fraud in the uk by people using data recovery software to recover previous files on the hard drive,

I'd like use zero-fill software but cannot find this on samsungs website the hard drive in my inspiron 6400 is HM080HI,

if anyone could suggest a decent zerofill software, i'll be grateful for your help.

Ones above, or you can just use the Zero-Fill feature that comes with HD Tuner Pro....download the demo for 30 days...comes with full features...

Remember, however, that you can NEVER completely remove the data from your HD, some law-enforcement agencies (i.e. the CIA) have special tools that can recover data even from burnt harddrives....so......

    http://dban.sourceforge.net/

Darik's Boot and Nuke ("DBAN") is a self-contained boot disk that securely wipes the hard disks of most computers. DBAN will automatically and completely delete the contents of any hard disk that it can detect, which makes it an appropriate utility for bulk or emergency data destruction.

DBAN is a means of ensuring due diligence in computer recycling, a way of preventing identity theft if you want to sell a computer, and a good way to totally clean a Microsoft Windows installation of viruses and spyware. DBAN prevents or thoroughly hinders all known techniques of hard disk forensic analysis.
