I bought a Dell XPS M1530 four months ago. But for some reason, I decided to buy a second one when that $799 off deal came around. So I need to sell my old one.

    Core 2 Duo T7500 (2.2 GHz, 4MB L2 Cache)
    Vista Home Premium
    Tuxedo Black
    4 GB 667 MHz RAM
    WXGA+ LG Display (1440x900)
256 MB NVidia GeForce 8600M GT
    250 GB 5400 RPM HDD
    8X DVD+/-RW
    Sound Blaster Audigy Advanced
    Intel 4965AGN Wireless-N
    6-Cell Battery, Bluetooth, LoJack
3 Year Warranty (less four months)

I bought it new, not from Dell Outlet. In pretty much brand new condition, only *very* minor wear and tear. I have everything it came with, including the original packaging. Even the cleaning cloth, ear buds, and media remote... all never opened.

I also have a brand new Timbuk2 Messenger Bag that I'm giving away with it. I bought it and don't like it.

Looking for some friendly feedback on what you think I can sell it for.

What did you pay for it originally if you don't mind me asking?

I'd say you could get over a grand based on how laptops are selling on ebay these days.

I paid $1,466 for it originally. That was with about $850 in discounts with the EPP. Yes, I know that's nothing compared to the deal I got a few weeks ago, but it was a great price then!

But it only came with 3GB RAM, I upgraded it. It also came with a 9-Cell battery, but I'm keeping that. I swapped it out with the 6-Cell that came with my new one. So the one I'm selling has a brand new battery.

I'd say $1150 due to specs + warranty.

this needs to be posted in the buy-sell-trade section

and read the guidelines-- to actually post the sale, you need a pic etc w/ your user name showing, etc.

Ah, well I wasn't trying to sell it here. I was planning on eBay'ing it. I was just looking for thoughts on the value.

But I guess I could give it a shot on here. Thanks. Feel free to lock/delete this thread. I'll post pics and all that in the Buy/Sell forum.

I just picked up a similar system for a friend of mine. Exact same specs except it came with a 200gb 7200 RPM drive. He ended up paying 1007 including taxes, shipping and 3 YR NBD Onsite Warranty including Complete Care. (this was without the 15% coupon) This was from Dell Outlet - and system was in pristine condition.

I think fair market value is probably around 850-960 dollars.
