I asked support about a buzzing sound in my 9300 when I listen to speech, and they told me to send it in and they'd fix it. I hate to send it since I just got it, but guess it's better to have everything working right. Anybody have experience with sending your Dell in for repairs? How long can I expect to be without it?

That stinks
, its better to have the computer running good than bad. Hope they can do something to fix it. Good Luck!
I have heard around 3 weeks but that is on a different website and i could be wrong. Depends on the problem to -
usually takes about a 1 week...2 days to ship to dell, 2 or 3 for repair (could be shorter/longer), 2 to send it back to you.
Depending on your warranty, if you have the at home service, you could have the tech come out to your house and fix it, but the problem with that is that sometime the Techs can't fix it right there and then...and you end up having to send it back in.

i have had that buzzing/vibration sound before also. i adjusted the volume levels in the control panel to fix it. i think there was to much bass or something.
i did have a weird winding noise for like 5 seconds coming from the video card fan the ther day, though. it scared me. it happened after i had started the computer. i havent heard it since. :noisyfan: -

Yep Hp re images the hard drive
HP was pretty fast at repairs - 1 day to get there, 1 day to repair, 1 day to get it back to you. That's how HP does it - overnight both ways!
Havent had any experience with Dell repairs on a laptop. The video card went in my desktop once - I sent it back to them and they sent me a new one back. Took about a week. -
DO NOT SEND YOUR SYSTEM BACK
Check in windows what you have your volume settings at and see if you cannot adjust it first. You send yoursystem back and they will give you another one which could have an lcd panel that you may not like.
Try to take care of the problem yourself and exhaust all possibilities before resorting to a return. -
Yea, I hate to send my system back also. I'm trying everything I can think of, but this buzzing sound keeps up. It happens when listening to somebody speak - I don't hear it listening to music. I can't tell where exactly the buzz/rattle is coming from, but I'm pretty sure it's not from the speaker.
If you have any ideas on something I could do, I'd love to hear them.
Somebody mentioned playing with bass/treble settings. Where can I do that? The only bass/treble adjustment I see is grayed out.
Thanks for any help. -
I'm pretty sure I've traced the rattle to my cd drive. When I eject the tray and hold it steady most of the rattle disappears. Any idea of how to keep it quiet?
Anybody else have this problem? -
its possible that your cd drive doesn't fit perfectly. You can take out the cd drive and reseat it. All you have to do is remove two screws and pull it out. Check to see if there is any metal pieces or something that is rattling around in the slot where the cd drive goes.
