I'm having a few nagging problems with my Inspiron 1520 that I would love to be fixed and was wondering if you guys think I should send it to Dell to get it fixed. I've heard so many horror stories about problems with laptops that were sent in to get fixed so I would like to get some opinions from those who have done so. Thanks.

What are the problems?

A squeaking right hinge, a bit of an uneven base, and speakers that crackle occasionally. Also, the faceplate that houses the power button doesn't sit flush on the right side for some reason.

Sorry for double posting, but does anyone know how much money it would be to upgrade to a 2 year warranty with on-site service?

Have you tried talking to Dell?
I'm sure they will know how much it cost in the country you live...
