Just reinstall the OS and I look at my device manager and see a Serial -non plug and play with a yellow mark. I cannot seen to find this driver and I install every driver needed (notebook, chipset, etc). Help!

    Thanks

    Wow, someone posted!

    Looks At Date

    Ah, memories. :)

I am using the e1505. I think the blue output on the back is what I am missing or maybe firewire? Its have something to do the communication and I still cannot find the missing com driver on dell web site.

Something interesting, when I receive this laptop (my second e1505), I check the device manager and did not see the serial in the picture at all before formating

I wouldn't worry about it. I have a yellow mark by my serial too and as far as I know, it does not affect any part of your system.

I'll try to research it and see what i can find, but I don't think it will cause any problems with your laptop.

FFZero - are you missing a driver for one of your communication ports?

Nope, I installed every driver needed and required. I have done some research about the serial driver before. It appear to be more than one driver put together and have something to do with your communication's ports (usb, firewire, Ethernet, etc). If you are missing one then the serial will have the yellow mark.

On dell's forum, someone mention that the missing driver could be the little blue output on the back of the e1505. Another person claim it to be one of dell's special driver when they were building your computer. I don't know but you are right, so far no problem. I just disable the serial and forget about it.
