Installed XP on my M1530 with success. Everything is working and no yellow exclamation on Device Manager. Every hardware was installed and have no issues whatsoever.

While on the device manager window i then clicked view then checked show hidden devices and then saw the Non-Plug and play devices section and under that near the bottom i saw a yellow exclamation under "serial". I right clicked it then properties but i saw nothing in it other than the word serial. Manufacturer is unknown and location unknown. there is nothing there no clue whatsoever that can tell me what is is about. The only thing that is says on the device status is "The device is not present, is not working properly, or does not have all its drivers installed". i checked troubleshoot but nothing in it. I checked unknown device identifier but it doesnt list it for some reason.

So, To all who installed XP on their XPS can you please check yours if it has or doenst have this issue? If you dont have or has resolved this issue can you please tell me how to get this fixed?

    Thanks.

I'm not sure what that would be but the last time I got that type of error, it was because I had forgotten to install the card reader driver.

Never Mind. There is only two options when you right click it. Either you disable or uninstall. I uninstalled it, scanned for hardware changes, and never went back. I must've gotten it by installing a wrong driver when i installed XP.
