Hi All
I'm looking at getting some stuff from the Dell outlet in the UK and when I check the service tag for the item it shows quantity as 10 for each line item.
This is a little confusing could anyone with experience of the outlet possibly clarify it for me?
Thanks

When someone or a company decides to make a larger purchase but sends it back or cancels sometime during the process(greater than 10 but usually smaller than 50 or so) they put them in the outlet. (larger than 50 they are usually sold in 'fire sales'). Anyways, all it means is that it was initially part of a larger order but that doesnt really matter to you. Each computer has a unique service tag number and thats what your warranty is based off of and it will be transferred to you upon the purchase.

I ve noticed that the PC World machines would have "mass" service tag. I reckoon some of them might have made themselves to the outlet.

Oh lots of companies order in bulk. Just about every company you see with dell computers bought them in groups rather than one at a time cuz of the big discount you can get when buying them in bulk.
At work we got a fire sale from another business that ordered the wrong model (actually it was dells mistake) so we got the 1000 computers at a 200k discount on top of the normal discount. Those outlet sales can be great like that for bulk purchases. Had we not bought them they all would have ended up in the outlet. -
Hi
If you do a search on this service tag number you'll see what I mean.

It is saying that it is not a valid number.

Go to the Dell UK site and enter it under warranty info.
The numbers fine -
I had and it wasnt going through, but it did now.
Looking at it, that is a very common system a business buys. I am sure they just bought 10 of them for an offfice or something then returned them or canceled the order sometime during it like i was saying before.
You will only get ONE computer, and when you buy it, it will be updated correctly. -
I had the same thing when I checked out the outlet machine I ended up buying. A day before it shipped to me, the information listed under that service tag was changed to reflect accurate details ie quantity was set to 1 where appropriate.

I know what you mean, that means that the person who made the order it ordered 10 of those, that doesnt mean that you are getting charged for the 10, its just a method to keep track of the computers in case that a multiple replacement has to be done.
Service Tag shows quantity 10 for each line item?
