I want to contact dell to return to exchange my e1405 due to an odd high pitched noise coming from the system, and trouble connecting a bluetooth device. I've typed in my service tag, and even clicked "find my service tag" and while it finds a tag that matches what's printed on the bottom of my case, I get a "service tag invalid" message. How will I be able to talk to customer support if they can't recognize my service tag?

I would take a pic of it, call Dell. The other thing is, if you bought online you should have a invoice with the Service tag number and also it should be in your account on Dell.com. See if anyone of those don't match.

just call/email/chat dell. you don't need your service tag number; just give them your name and they can look it up.

My system (e1405) had the same issue but it was no problem returning the laptop. The Dell rep was able to pull up my system/order without any problems.

I just got off the phone, and they fixed all the problems with dell's remote connect, even the weird high pitched noise has dissapeared. My bluetooth and usb are now working as they should.

I think I will be keeping this system, the light leakage isn't bad enough to make me want to send it back, but I'll give it a few days before passing final judgement, I haven't even been using it for 24 hours yet!

None of the E1405 service tags seem to be working on their website, I've complained about this 5 times already. Dell CS has gone down the tube and they don't even understand english.
