Shipped! Two weeks early??

The estimated ship date was the beginning of August, but I just got notified my new laptop is on the way! Should be here by the end of the week I didn't even order my sleeve yet, friggen Dell q:

Nice. According to the automated order system, mine shipped 9 years ago. Seriously. It said it shipped in June of 1998. Hahaha....

I'm on hold right now, waiting for a real person.

 

Mine too -- it was supposed to ship 7/26; just got the e-mail from Dell this morning that it's on the way. I'm very pleased.

I suspect Dell does go with a worst-case scenario when setting the initial ship date.

 

What did you order? Mine two were ordered in the beginning of July and still have their original ship date... Man.. I am checking status like 20 times a day...!

 

Mine is still in the build stage..sigh. I ordered the glossy screen which said (may delay your ship date 3-4 days)..I probably will have to wait till exactly the 30th for mine to ship. Atleast my free remote and free sleeve will be here so I can sleep with them under my pillow and pray for their friend to come home.

 

You most likely mis-typed a number in your order number, Just call and try the number again.

 

Mine took 5 (five) business days to get built, shipped, and delivered to my door. Crazy.

 

It also happens when u enter a non-US order number...

 

Wow... if only the m1330's were like that

I got the 1420, T7100 with WXGA (1280x800) glossy screen.

 

omg, this thread gives me such great hope!! lol. Now i'm ultra anxious to get my 1420 AHHH!

I think a lot of people got their laptops like around 2 weeks early... I'm typing from my new Inspiron 1420 right now!!!

 

I think this may have to do with where you live.. the zip code.
Because I ordered mine on 7/12 and I called today to check status, and it is in build stage/mode.. so most likely I will receive my notebook next week sometimes.
My zip code at the moment is 73132 because I haven't left for college yet ~~
If you received your inspiron early, tell us where which zip code and mabye that will help some people

I thought I read a couple days ago on another thread that Dell will ship the m1330 on the 20th of July... hope mine goes into ship status soon.

Dell called me earlier today to confirm the shipping/billing address, and I managed to get an answer on when it will ship. He said something like 8 to 10 biz days for my order.

my ESD is still september 6 though on the dell website...

 

What does it say when you call the 1-800 number?

 

the same exact date is repeated to me when i call the phone #. last i called it was this afternoon at around 4pm (eastern time zone, -5 GMT)

i'll call it again in the morning.

Hey guys, I just ordered my 1520 tonight, and i got the 1680 screen. Its weird because as i customized it, it say it ship by august 1st, but in the email confirm it says august 6th now! Think it could be earlier, plz??

 

Probably a few days. I'm not sure if there's news going on for the 1420's... just the m1330's... (which is taking forever in BUILD stage).

 

It usually ships about a week early... and I've seen a few people get theirs 2-3 weeks early. So its entirely possible!

Try calling and explain your situation. They usually will get your order "expedited" for free... (i.e. Next Day shipping)

 

I feel like a little kid. I can't wait. I hope there is nothing wrong with it.

 

LOL... for those who ordered the m1330... we all feel like bullies... trying to push Dell around.
