Shipped 9/1....do we have to wait until Wednesday to get it??

My laptop was shipped 9/1. However DHL still does not recognize my tracking number. The Wilmington, OH hub appears to still be down for Labor Day as I do not see any planes coming in and this is the time of day when inbound traffic is heaviest. After a few hours they switch to outbound traffic...but if there's no inbound to bring my laptop here I assume my laptop is still sitting in Tennessee until the next round of inbound planes tomorrow night. Grrr. Next day shipping my ass.

Does anyone else who was shipped on 9/1 have a working tracking number?

 

You're complaining because you don't think Dell and DHL employees deserve a holiday too? That's what it sounds like to me.

 

Or maybe I'm just trying to figure out when shipping operations resume?

(BTW there's no "too" as some of us had to work all weekend )

My 1720 shipped on 9/1 (according to Dell, or 9/2 according to DHL). I did get a tracking number on Sunday, and it is scheduled to arrive on Wednesday.

Dell told me they were upgrading me to "Next Business Day" shipping, and their online order status site reflects that. However, the DHL tracking shows the service type as "ground" and doesn't mention "next business day" or anything like it. It probably doesn't really matter though, I'm not sure "next business day" would be any faster, since it did ship out on the weekend, right in the middle of a nice long holiday weekend.

 

Yeah I'm thinking that those of us who had to wait out the holiday weekend are going to be waiting one more day until Wednesday. When I ordered the IR remote, it had arrived at the Wilmington, OH DHL hub at 12:30 am the morning before I received it. I have yet to see any plane arrive or leave from that airport. Only hope is if it already arrived there early Saturday morning and they just didn't scan it in yet.

Yes I am so bored at work (working overnight shift) that I keep checking the shipping status and looking out the window to see if they've started flying yet. Sucks that "next day shipping" is turning out to be 4 days.

 

seriously... i mean i ordered my Ram and an external HD enclosure from Newegg and it shipped on 9/1 via UPS 3day and its coming tomorrow.

 

my arrival date is 9/4-9/6... it shipped late thursday/early friday... I have a tracking number with no info attached, but a DHL rep was able to look it up for me and she said that it should arrive today.

 

funny on the dell site it says iv got ground, on dhl's overnight

 

My niece received a phone call on my behalf this morning before 6:30 am EST and she could hardly understand the person... she wasn't sure if it was from Dell or DHL but they wanted to know if someone whould be home between 11-2 to deliver my lap top.... The phone system and website are still not showing a tracking # so I can't trace.....

 

My red 1721 supposedly shipped out 9/1, it's 9/4 an I still don't have a working tracking no. on dhl's site. I also have next day.

 

Yep, another labor day/holiday all weekend worker here. Alot of us work holidays, fortunately the world does not shut down on their behalf or we would not have hospitals and restaurants or other service orginizations such as police, ambulance or fire men, not to mention the soldiers out there in Iraq that don't take off the hoilday either.
What the heck good are dhl' tracking no.s if the dumb things don't show up trackable until after the shipment has been delivered? Personally I like ups or fed ex. Not very happy with dhl so far.

 

ugh, called DHL and its not in their hands yet.... Called Dell and the lady says "it says it shipped on September 1st" and when i told her DHL said they didnt have it yet she replied... "well estimated shipping date is just an estimation..." I finally, for the first time lost it after the third time in this circle with the lady. "THERE IS NO ESTIMATION ANYMORE, THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE ESD... THIS IS A SHIPPED DATE, NOT ESTIMATED!!!" before finally being trasferred and told they were going to call logistics and find out about it and would let me know... tomorrow......

*grumble* *grumble*

 

as im in europe im with UPS. I should have it by tomorrow too, that is if they bring it before 10:30... else ill be gone all day

 

Yeah, mine "shipped" 9/1, but tracking on dhl's site still only says "Shipment data received". I wonder if dhl is even working today because I imagine I would have seen some movement with my package (it is already 4pm EST)....

 

Apparently DHL gets a 4 day weekend because there was zero activity at their hub this morning and all the lights were off at the airport. Must be nice. I called DHL to see if they had any info on my tracking number since the website doesn't recognize it, and she gave me attitude! Said either Dell gave me the wrong tracking number or they had the shipping date wrong. UGH.

I just want the laptop, tired of one thing after another keeping it from getting into my hands. Next time I'm going to a freaking store and picking one up.

 

Also, I still haven't been charged for my order yet. Is that a bad sign that it hasn't even left Dell's hands?

 

My ship date was 9/1, just got it about an hour ago. Typing on her now.

You guys serious? When I was trying to track mine "shipped" on 9/1, I got

"Tracking number not found. Please check your number and resubmit or try back later. Note: Tracking numbers for today's shipments may not have entered into our tracking system yet. You may also check for Delivery Signature for this shipment."

 

Dell is pretty whacky, so why not choose a shipping company that is just as whacky?

Since some people got theirs today, I'm wondering if packages that go through Ohio are getting held up, since the OH hub apparently decided to go for a 4-day vacation for the hell of it.

 

Ummm, it just says that my shipment data was transmitted to DHL. That means that DHL doesn't even have the package, so I really do not know where it is

 

DHL said they are being picked up today more than likely and should show in the tracking computers by late tonight.

I called them and asked them why Dell says it was shipped 9/1 and I still don't even have tracking info... The lady informed me she has been fielding these calls all day. The likely scenario is dell printed up the waybills on Sat, but DHL was closed till today so they wouldnt even ship till today. She said it takes several hours to process them all after they pick them up at 18:00. She said if it didn't get delivered tomorrow then Dell has not shipped them yet.

sleey0- my Grandparents live in Bradford, PA. I lived in Buffalo until last October.

On the shipping note, I had called DHL on Monday AM and the lady had told me since they weren't shipping on Monday and they "didn't have the prioduct yet" that they would probably get the shipment from Dell on Tuesday and I'd have my laptop on Wednesday. We'll see. *fingers crossed*
