Shipping Dates w/ Dell

Wow..

After looking at the recent thread and reading this article: http://msn.pcworld.com/reviews/article/0,aid,125425,00.asp

about the 7900 GS coming to the e1705, I read the reviews about Dell at the bottom...

About 95% of the people there stated that Dell sold them an item that wasn't in stock, and delayed the ship date, sometimes by a few weeks to a few months!!!!

Seriously, has anyone ordered an e1705 (with 7800 go), or anything, recently and recieved it on time, as promised? If this is an issue, I am cancelling my order ASAP!

 

I ordered on a Sunday Night, received the next Monday...so 1 week not bad huh?

The only issue I have had is that I was a fool and missed ordering the Sound Blaster upgrade....

Screen is amazing....I went to InterfaceLIFT and dowload most of the 1920X1200 Wallpaper....sitting here being blown away by the slideshow

 

I just ordered an i6000 from dell outlet. b4 i placed the order dell said it would ship the same day...after i placed the order they say it won't be shipped until the 12th, expected to arrive on the 17th.

 

Doesn't make sense, I would get online chat and find out what's up.

 

tried that, can't get thru. sent an email, said they're "backlogged". needless to say, my first dell experience is not going very well.

 

Take it easy, I ordered under the assumption my order would ship June 27...

My E1405 isn't being shipped until the 18th!

Maybe they'll move it up like the D620

 

I ordered my M1710 with 'may cause delay' 7900GTX and still got it pretty fast, a week and a day. Ordered at a kiosk on April 24, shipped on the 28th and arrived on May 2nd.

 

I wish I didn't have to wait so long, is there any possibility Dell will bump up the ship date on my E1405, it's already at the boxing stage and I ordered it on Wednesday.

 

i ordered an inspiron 6400 (e1505) on the 4th of may and it was ordered, built, tested and shipped within 24 hours....its delivery estimate is the 15th of may at present but should arrive before then...

 

I ordered mine Tuesday afternoon, and it hasn't even started the kitting process yet. Still has a ship date of the 18th though.

 

Dell usually has a habit of overestimating their ship dates anyway, according to many on this board.

 

My estimated ship date is the 12th of May... Friday. So, a week from order to ship, and then about another week, worse case.. not a big deal I guess, but I just don't want to be sitting there waiting for it, only to find out it was delayed without any notification!

 

I ordered my notebook last weekend. They said it would ship the 8th. I got it the 4th after they upgraded my free shipping (3-5 day) to overnight because it was in the "boxing" phase for an extended period of time.

 

Hopefuly that will happen to me, I don't want to wait 3 weeks for my laptop.

 

On Dell's order tracking page, it says "delivery date"... is it the date when they'll ship my laptop or the date when I should receive it?

I had a delivery date of May 17th when I ordered... and now it's May 12

 

I got my E1505 3 days earlier than they told me it would arrive. I was so happy. By the way, I have yet to really stress my X1400=)

 

That's the date it will be delivered to you.

 

OK could someone please explain this to me:

Earlier today I checked my order status/contents to see what software was being shipped with my system.

Later I went back to view my order details (same page as before) and it gave me a message saying it was unable to display my order contents were unavailable online(it's still doing it now, ever since this afternoon) I can still see my order's progress(it's a the boxing stage) but I can't actua;;y see what I ordered.

 

Anyone? please

 

How can I know in which phase of production my laptop is?

 

That's different than the US site. If you click on the status thing while your unit is still in production then it will bring up a little "list" of all the stages with a check mark nexted to all the ones that have been completed.

My order shipped this morning, it's "in transit to local carrier"

Yeah, I looked up my order today, and there was a delivery change notice: last week they said the 12th, today it was changed to....... the 10th Under promise, over deliver!

 

Hum.. I try to check the status of my order today and the system can't find it

 

that happened to me, it means it should ship soon.

 

I don't think so... I called them and talked to a (incompetant) CSR and she told me my laptop is still in production

 

Ordered my girlfriend an E1705. Order submitted on 5/9, shipped on 5/12, arriving (according to UPS) 5/15.

 

Ordered an e1505 on 5/5, they estimated a ship date of 5/16, but should arrive tomorrow (5/15) according to UPS.
