Hi,
My XPS M1210 9-cell was loosing charge very rapidly so I called dell CS and they told me they would replace it. Tomorrow I will go to pick it up from Purolator ( a shipping company's warehouse). How do I send the old battery back to DELL? Can I reuse their packaging on the spot, as in open the package, take the new battery, place the old battery in their pacage and resend it? How would it work?
Thank you
-
How did you return it? My batterie is really losing charge very fast.. I told them I use a program to tell how much it was "worn out" at it showed 26% afeter just very low use in 4 months... They told me the only case they would change it was if the Fn+F3 showed it needed replace...
I get 3h30m with the 9cell with the lowest setting in everything..??
So how did you managed to make Dell replace your battery??? -
Dell sends you a box with the battery and stuff inside. Also, inside is a prepaid shipping label that you simple peel off and stick over the previous shipping label, seal package, and call shipping company for pickup or drop it off.
My case was a bit more extreme than yours. 30 minutes max down from a little over 3 hours and 77% wear over 9 months. -
Well I bought my laptop at the beginning of december, it used to do 4.5 hours on battery but right now it did 2.5 hours if that...
So I called them and told them the situation, they told me that that was "normal" but I called the situation unacceptable since I paid almost 2K for this computer and expected much better performance out of this battery. After about 30 minutes, of running me through the same nonsense of checking the BIOS and making sure my computer was plugged in... Yada yada yada, they agreed to give me a new battery.
It took some stern talking but I got it out of them.
Thanks mfmbcpman for letting me know about the shipping process.
