    Hi,

I'm not sure if this is the right forum to ask, but I ordered Zune HD from Dell.com.

I ordered using ground shipping but I heard 2nd day is free too.

I was wondering if I could make the change from ground to 2nd day shipping on Monday once they're open again..

I ordered one on the 11th (Friday).. should be shipped out beginning 15th (Tuesday).

It's my first time purchasing from Dell, so I don't have much idea.

    Thank you!

    Hey there,

Since the Zune HD is on *Pre Order* anyways...and 2nd day shipping is free..there shouldn't be a problem making that change to 2nd day shipping for you. They have done this for me in the past on my accessory orders.

Just call them up Monday morning, first thing..when they are open for business & ask them to do this for you, since it was an advertised free upgrade. Make sure, to get a Case Number emailed to you, as your confirmation/record that the change is going to be done.

I'm surprised that your Zune HD is shipping out so fast on Tuesday! :D You got lucky..most peep's from what I've been hearing, that have ordered...theirs are shipping out at a later date.. :)

I'm prolly ordering, but will do it thru EPP...so they will price match Dell home, and I can get the additional 7% savings! ;)
Sidenote: Did you order the 16 or 32GB?

I thought you can't combine EPP 7% + 15% coupon. I tried but it didn't work on dell.com epp site. Does it really work? I have EPP for my university.. If that's possible, would I be able to cancel that order and order through EPP?

I guess you mean, call Dell and apply EPP+15% discount?

    I got 32GB for $258 including tax :)

Really looking forward to first MS mp3 player. I've not been an early adapter for 2-3 years, but I'm back again... :(

You can't directly use the coupon on EPP's site... :( It will say its not applicable.

I always pick up the phone and dial an EPP Rep..as they are supposed to *match and beat* all Dell home pricing. And, that is the advertised home pricing deal! :)

So, yes..they should give you the deal, + the 7%. Do NOT cancel your order, until you have spoken to a Rep, and confirmed that they are going to do this for you, and your shipping has been bumped to 2nd day, etc.

I always have this handy, to remind the EPP Rep, per EPP *terms* they are supposed to match & beat Home Pricing:

Good luck, I don't think you should have a problem, and remember...if you pay by Dell DPA, you also save that additional 3% savings!

I'm going to prolly order the 16gb.. :) I think you will really be happy with the 32gb! :) I heard they are going to start offering some free *etchings* on them fairly soon! (not at Dell, though)

WOW............... OMG! If it works, I don't know how to thank you, seriously!!!

So 21% off is possible? That would be close to the total price of 16GB.

So I should call on Monday and ask if EPP + 15% coupon Home works, and if it does, I ask them to cancel my current order?

Is there restocking fee for canceled order?

Do I give them my Member ID?

I went to this site ( http://www.delluniversity.com/myoffers.aspx) and I see my Member ID/school e-mail address listed.

What you want to do, is you already have your confirmation of your order already....that's good..No you will not get charged a restocking fee if you cancel. It's a PreOrder. They really shouldn't be able to do that to you.

You might just want to go ahead and *configure* a 32GB thru EPP, and just *save it to your cart* to have it handy. (in case you have to cancel the other order). Which, I think you may have to, if you order thru EPP..as they operate differently then Dell Home...but as stated before, don't cancel that order....keep it, til you know 100% that EPP is going to give you the 15% savings and the 7%. ;) I don't want you to lose it!

Sometimes, depending on the Rep, they will state they cannot match that pricing...but they can..and will if you are persistent. :)

Yes, when you speak via phone with the EPP Rep, they will ask you for your Member ID! :)

When you call Monday, tell your EPP Rep...that you want to order the PreOrder Zune 32GB, you already have a order thru dell Home, you are a EPP Member, and you were reminded that EPP is supposed to match all current Dell Home Pricing/savings and would like them to honor that...meaning the current coupon pricing of 15% and your 7% on top of that. Advise you are aware that your current order will potentially need to be canceled and a new one created with him/her. What will need to be done to make this the most efficient transaction?

They may have to put you on hold for a several minutes...the last time the Rep I had that did this for me, had to get approval from another department to do some sort of *override* on his computer..but it all worked out. :) (I had to read parts of that attachment above I linked to for you to the Rep, to remind him of the *Matching* current home deals) :)

Yes, please keep me advised..and I will you also! I'm going to take the *plunge* and attempt to order also! :D

I was hesitant..as I just returned a newly received 8GB Zune that was non working right out of the box.. :( But, I really want to try out the 16GB :)

    So, we shall see!

*fingers crossed* for both of us! ;)

I called EPP (I guess they're open) and they said they cannot combine two discounts in which case (7% and 15%). Sales rep checked twice for me.

Could you try? They're open today. Keep me updates so I could decide whether to call again or not.
