Hey everyone, long time reader, first-time poster...
I just got shocked by my XPS M1530! Nothing major, but I guess that's the price you pay for all that lovely aluminium :) Anybody else been shocked by their M1530?
Still, I am very happy with it, it's fast and looks good, and I was lucky not to get one of the grainy screens that so many people were on about...
    Peace out.

Yes it is. You can also ground the laptop by plugging in a peripheral that uses a 3pin power cable.

This is a very good thread!!!

I had the same problem w/my 1530 when I first received it, and I don't have the issue any longer. It lasted for nearly a week, went away..so I didn't need to call Dell.

But if your shock issue keep's up, be sure to call Dell. ;) :D

Thanks for the replies guys. I read the other thread on the shocking stuff (thanks tumnasgt) and it seemed that people were getting electricity leakage in the palmrest area with a 2 pin adaptor and this was resolved using a three pin adaptor. However I'm in the UK and already have a three prong power adaptor. The shocking only happens every now and again but this time it got my finger pretty bad... Reckon I should get in touch with Dell about it?

Interesting, most of the people that reported a problem never really got shocked by it, but received a vibration/tingeling feeling with the AC adapter plugged in. If you were truley shocked, then yes contact dell, you have a bigger issue at hand, no pun intended. :)

You may have a 3 pin plug but it's likely you've only got a 2 wire cable, therefore not earthed. Check the number of pins where it connects to the adapter itself.

I think i have got shocks from my XPS 1330, it happens when i have my TV plugged into it Via HDMI and on battery power. When i plug in the AC, the tingling goes away. It also stops when my two hands are touching the aluminum
