Should i overclock my 8600gt? When i feel that vents after 20min of gaming it feels very hot, really hot, and the bottom. I hear this is normal, well its ok if its hot, as long as my components are protected. So, i heard temps wont really rise if i overclock this gpu, but im afraid of stressing it too far.

If i should overclock, what should i use? ATI tool? I have overlock my 7600gs on my desktop with coolbits.

Also most importantly, what drivers should i used, i currently use the stock dell drivers, because they work, i tried one from laptop2video.com and it ended up to where none of my games worked so it made me furious, so i got the dell drivers back on and all is fine now. Also, if i OC will my battery life be destroyed? Or does it matter? Because when im on battery i dont game anyway, but i was just hoping the performance clocks dont interfere with vista gfx clock speeds.

    thanx.

Well if you use ATI tool, nothing will happen... as it is a nVidia video card.

I think Coolbits is the nVidia program

I use coolbits on my nVidia card and it works great. Here's a link on how activate it as it's there when you install the drivers.

You can also try Rivatuner. I'm using v2.01 and it allows for overclocking, controls fan speed and several other things.
