My wifes Inspiron 1525 came with Vista Home Premium and 2GB of ram. She basically uses it for web surfing, email, and Microsoft Word. Would increasing the ram to 3 GB add to performance at all or is it a total waste? It's not that performance is bad, I just wonder if adding ram with what she uses it for could make it even better.

For those uses, I don't think you should invest in more RAM.

It would help by speeding up the opening of programs etc but unless you are gaming or other intensive tasks like that 2 gb is good...

I was running Vista on my Inspiron 1520 with 1.5 gb of ram for a few days ... it ran fine for me.
