My estimated ship date is Monday, but the system is still in production, it hasn't been listed as in "boxing" stage yet. Is this thing going to actually be shipped on monday? or is it more waiting on my XPS?
-
It won't ship Monday. You will get the delay email around mid-day on Monday.
-
The online status system will only tell you "in production"...the hotline gives more specific status. -
Have not called in yet. I should have gotten the 9-cell battery, I'd probably have it by now had I gone that route.

What info do i need when i call? Just the order number?

And don't use your dell purchase ID, use your order number for the computer. -

Grrr, I ordered the exact same system as you except LED and I'm gonna be devastated if they delay mine next friday. I was told there was no delays on my laptop and I should see it ship before or on the day of my ESD.
-
Recording still said monday shipping.....we'll see I guess.

Ha, Dell just sent me an email asking me to fill out a survey about my Customer Experience with Dell. I left a lengthy comment about the crappy foreign service.
-
Was your order still in Build? Unless it makes it to Boxing by tonight, it seems unlikely they'll hit your Monday ESD. Hopefully you won't wait too long. I went right up to the wire like you, and they only missed mine by one day. -
Still "In Production". This upsets me, cause I know it all has to do with the battery. Starting to wish I had gone 160 GB 7200RPM HDD and 9-cell bat instead. I would probably have it by now.....
-
Still, "In Production"......what number is the best to call to complain about this problem??? If its the battery I am going to pi$$ and moan with a customer sales rep about the free upgrade, which I would have gotten had I ordered the same thing 2 days ago with a ship date of Thursday........
-
You can call customer service, but complaining wont get you anywhere. If the current date is past the estimated ship date, then complaining may get you an upgrade to shipping, but... most likely it wont get you anywhere.

-
Complain and demand some compensation. They gave me $50.
-
To upgrade the battery you will need to cancel the order and place it again.
They will not modify an order. I tried doing this 10 times. -

Yeah I called and they wouldn't give me an upgrade to the free battery either. My ESD is friday and I'm still in boxing. I think I may just cancel and pick up a macbook or something because this is borderline ridiculous.

I'm thinking of calling today just to find out what exactly is going on and not any beating around the bush answers. The XPS m1530 was the only computer I could find that fit all my requirements and was still affordable.
-
Its the 6-cell batteries, thats it, they ran out.
I think my WSXGA+ screen probably isn't helping me either cause I ordered it about a week before they pulled it from the market. -
yes, 6 cell battery is causing major delay.
Should I be concerned
