I just recieved a call from the case manager for my order. She explained that they are still having LCD screen shortages and while they were still trying to ship my order by Aug 9th, they could not guarrantee it.
I asked her for clarification as to whether it was the actual LCD screen OR the color choice, because several people who have posted on here placed their orders with similar configs between July 27th-31st and either have theirs or it's atleast shipped.
She said it's actually both because the lid color and LCD screen are molded together and come as one part. I don't know how true it is, but it made sense.
Should I cancel my order, change to black for my color choice and upgrade to the T7500, 2.2GHz Duo Core?

That's what I did when I got the 8/28 delayed date. I canceled and reordered and got 8/23 for my jetblack 1520

Do any of you know what happens to the computer you had ordered when you "change" an order? I changed my order on July 26 to add the 256MB NVIDIA card instead of the one below that. So, do they just change that card or do they start over with a new build?

Start over completely, I believe. When I first ordered on July 7, I decided I wanted to drop the screen down to the 1440x900. An online rep told me she couldn't modify the order, but she could cancel it. Needless to say, after almost an hour on the phone with sales (not being able to give me the same discount I received before because the coupon expired), he connected me with order modification who magically was able to reinstate the order with the discount, but change the option I wanted. However, it does show up as a new order with a July 8 order date.

Thanks -- that's kind of what I thought. but what remains, is, where is and what do they do with the computer they had begun to build? Weird.

They had never actually begun to build it....so they laugh as they "pretend" to begin building a new one!

I got the contact info for a rep that helped a coworker of mine and spoke with him this afternoon. I did find out a couple things that might have put my mind at ease sooner if one of the other reps or case managers had only told me before.
He said that he could see where a rep had entered a request for my order to be expedited, but that the request had been denied because the LCD Lid was backordered and expected to be in stock at the factory by close of business on Aug 6th.
I asked if he could see if the parts came in as expected and he said that he could find out but that would take some more time and research.
We decided to wait until tomorrow afternoon and then I will call him back. if my order isn't in testing then we may reorder. He also said there was a brief delay (as was rumored) on the T7300 processors but that has been resolved. They had one shipment that arrived 4-5 days behind schedule.

I got an 8/28 date yesterday. I changed my order today to upgrade the screen from anti-glare to high res 1440x900. They don't have the WX whatever Truelife anymore. I asked for that. At first, my new order said that I was getting that, but now it doesn't. I now have a shipping date of September 11, but she thought it should ship way earlier than that, especially if they get the parts in this week like they are supposed to. We'll see.

Also, I ordered the WXGA+ 1440x900 screen with built in camera.
