I am thinking about getting a Studio 15 but instead of paying $85 for a permanent lid design i was thinking about just getting a skin. Would anything be wrong with that? Are they easily removeable? Can you reuse them? Are there any size concerns? Is there anything that pops out of the middle from the dell logo?

ebay for "laptop skins"

Ummm what?
I know WHERE to get skins -
I had a skin on my Studio 15. It was a phoenix and I purchased it off of eBay. The skin was stylish and kept the rubber finish from getting scratched. The skin I purchased had a grid on the back with multicolored lines for different sized screens. It was very easy to cut out.

I do want to find a good skin for the 1535, not just any generic 15.4" skin, but something specifically cut out for this model.
-
Do such skins exist? I would also prefer something specific. I only went with generic because I didn't know there were model-specific skins.

Skinit that I linked to above has custom skins for the Studio 15. Unfortunately, they don't have one for the Studio 17 =(

I know the SGP store has custom skins for specific Dell models, with cutouts for the Dell logo, and even the XPS logo on the M1330/1530. Unfortunately, no Studios yet. They're looking for people to donate their Studio 15/17 for a day so they can make skins for it, and whoever is kind enough to donate theirs gets free products from them.
I would do it myself, but it's local dropoffs only, in California, and I'm in Ohio.
I'll check those out.
Should I get a skin for my next Dell?
