I just ordered this laptop for $779. This is gonna be my first laptop so I'm very exciting. How is this deal? I think it's good specs for the price. However, the word "refurbished" still worry me. I don't know whether I should get this deal or wait for a brand-new deal?

BTW, can anyone give me a dell outlet coupon? Thanks

That is an awesome deal. Take advantage of it now. You will not have another opportunity this good once Montevina comes out next month or two.

Refurbished models are usually fine. Most of them look like-new out of the box (except for a refurb-sticker under the unit). They are very well discounted, and you get 21 days to decide if you want to keep the unit or not.

My one suggestion: Try to go for a unit with an LED display -- you will appreciate the brighter screen.

Nice deal! And as the OP stated, have you considered the LED screen, at all? :D

Either way, congrat's on your impending purchase!! ;) :)

That's a really good deal since you are getting the T9300..

BUT, you should first tell us what you will be using this laptop for..

Because with only the integrated video card, you wont be able to do much gaming on this laptop, also LED would be a good upgrade, its good that it only comes with 1 GB of RAM, this way you can save money by buying a 4GB off of Newegg or something for like $50 instead of paying $150 with dell..

To me, If you are just using this laptop for NOT GAMING purposes, then its all good, i mean, you cant go wrong with a XPS with a T9300 that only costs $779..

Compare it to what i have as you can see in my sig, i only paid $1283.48 for mine with a T9300, 256MB of 8600M GT which is great for gaming, i also have LED and 250GB of harddrive and you only got 120 in yours..

If you can catch a good coupon then get it... but if you are gonna game, i suggest you get a M1530 instead of a M1330..

Oh, It's just for school stuff. I'll lie if saying that I won't game on it, but it's affordable for integrated card :D

BTW, what do you think about "refurbished"? This is my first laptop and I never have experienced with Dell or Dell outlet before, so I really need some comments. Thanks for your input =)

Hmm, i wouldnt spend over $1000 on a laptop and not get it BRAND NEW, i dont like used or refurbished stuff, but that doesn't mean dell outlet doesnt have good stuff..

You might be lucky and got one that is brand new but somebody just simply cancelled their order, or you could get one that is broken and dell took it back, fixed it and resell.. but it comes with warranty so its all Good, but the only thing i wouldnt like is the scratches and dents that the laptop might have, since it is not BRAND NEW..

If you keep with the integrated video card, you wouldnt be able to play good games like COD4 or crisis, maybe you can play really old games, you could probably play WOW with low settings but that takes the fun outta playing a game...

So i suggest you chip in an extra $500 and get a nice laptop that has a 256MB of 8600M GT and a LED backlid LCD, which saves power and is brighter.. But if you are on a budget and just want a starter laptop, then this is a really good deal, seriously.. You should definitely look for a outlet coupon, there are probably a 10% off dell outlet in the bargains and deals section, go look..

But other than that, alot of ppl on here buy from dell outlet and they all said that they like their laptops, the main reason-CHEAP..

And if you do decide on getting this one, once you get it, and there are scratches on it or something, dont b!tch about it lol...

Is it $779 with shipping or you still have to pay shipping and tax?

You're making a point to me here, but not about the graphic card though.

If I got the brand-new one, then the price would be too much for my budget. I could have gone for the deal in April, which came with discrete graphic card and 4GB RAM for around $1045, but then I decided to skip it since I thought I don't need it. Also, discrete card is gonna cost me some minutes of battery too. Basically, I just don't want to pay for anything that I don't need :D

about this order, I'll call and ask them for discount, otherwise I'll return it :D If they accept to give me a discount, then I'll give to my cousin, ask him to check up the laptop for me. If it's good, then I'll keep it, if not then return :D That's why I asked if Dell charge return shipping fee before :D.

    Again, thank Lefix

No problem, i can understand that $1300 comparing to $800 is alot of money, but unless you get the 256MB of 8600M GT, gaming wont be as good...

I've managed to play games on a laptop with ATI Mobility Radeon X300 (64Mb) just fine the last few years, obviously not on the highest settings, but I'm not that picky. For a budget computer this looks pretty awesome. I would recommend getting another gig of memory though. :)

Yeah right now i am still using a 3 year old laptop that has a ATi Radeon 9000, which is older than your's lol, and could play WoW at a good resolution and frame rate.. it depends on what games you play, if i wanna play COD4, its not happening on my 3 year old laptop..

And with my XPS M1530, it would be perfect for this game. :D

4GBs of RAM or 3.5GBs of RAM will be the best, which is what i am getting off newegg or Fry's

So far, I couldn't find any coupon :( there is any chance if I call Dell and ask them for a discount? I heard somewhere in forum that if you call Dell outlet to order, they probably give you 15% off, is that right?

yes, I did, but I just saw a bunch of expired coupon lol.

Anyway, here is my plan. I'm gonna call them on Monday and hope my order has not been shipped. I plan to negotiate with them: if they give me discount, then I'll buy it, if not I just cancel.

    Module,Liquid Crystal Display 13.3WX,Stand,Lg Philips Lcd M1330

Man, I feel this is a very good deal. Hopefully, I can low the price even more by tomorrow when I call Dell :D Anyone can give me a suggestion to ask Dell for a discount? :D

Yeah, that is good, too bad it's not LED, because the LED on the M1330 makes the screen super thin, and the LED on the M1530 is the same thickness..

Like I said before, I'm not picky about the screen so LG would be enough for my need.

How about the Dell wireless N card? Is it ok, or is it too bad compare with Intel wireless N card?

Well it is still a wireless N, better than just a G..

Dell Wireless N is fine, although they say that Intel is better because it catches better and has better compatibilities with different routers..

Yeah i'm still up, it's only 10:51PM here because i am in Hawaii :D

yeah, I heard that too, but again I agree that N better G :D

Now I feel it's hard to decide. I want to see the laptop, but if so, it's really risky when I return. They probably can charge me 15% restocking fee and that's hurt.

ps: lol, I thought your clock was 3am in the morning :D

I just ordered a 'Scratch & Dent' XPS M1530 from the ebay outlet cost me £480. I priced it new with same specs and it would be about £800. So for what I saved I don't mind a wee scratch if there is even any on it.

    2.1Ghz Core 2 Duo T8100
    3GB RAM
    320GB HDD
    256MB GeForce8600M GT
    Intel Wireless N card
    6 Cell Battery
    1280x800 WXGA With Truelife

Expected Delivery 29th May although the girl I spoke to said I'd probably get it earlier.

One thing I am not sure of though is does everything that is supposed to be in the packaging ie remote, case earphones etc still come in the box?

As long as you return within 21 days from when they ship, there is no restocking fee.
And they'll email you an RMA to attach to your package, or you can have the laptop picked up. You don't pay return shipping.

IF there is something wrong with the order. If you just dont want it anymore they arent going to be happy and probably make you pay a restocking fee.
