Well, friends I have been eyeing this for months reading all your wonderful posts. I want the product red and today they have it as the 1 Day Deal. Maybe it sounds silly but I really prefer the Red color. Of course the rep said I had to order on the spot and he could not even get me the deal in black if I called back......sounds a bit like a car salesman.
Below is what I wanted order, they were unwilling to lower the price but did offer $100 gift card. The question comes in because the rep said he could not lower the price but if I got the black he would do the following for the same price:
Price: $1673
increase HD to 320
increase to 3 yr warranty & accidental coverage
increase to 3G ram
decrease from Vista Ultimate to Home Premium

I, personally would just order it!!
))
Dell's deals always "come and go". So you lose one day, and get another one another day.
I so procrastinated on getting my lappy, and lost on good deals because of that. When I finally ordered my 1530 ~ I was so happy and relieved.
Let's put it this way..The longer you wait to order, the longer it takes to get your lappy in your hands))
I have Home Premium, and it works well for my needs.) I didn't feel that I needed Vista Ultimate, and again glad I made that choice
You know if you really don't feel like you are getting a good deal, you can always try another rep, though it is time consuming)
Good luck with whatever you decide to do)

I guess the question is how much you prefer the red color.
If you really want the red, see what kind of deal you can get from another Dell rep on the red one. -
Use the coupon found here to bring the price down further
