I just recently AS5'd my CPU and GPU with notable results. When I pulled apart the bottom of me lappy, I noticed the "Northbridge only had a blue thermal pad. Unfortunately I couldn't just simply apply some paste to the unit because of a slight difference in contact are between the heatsink and Northbride surface area. The space between is ~0.75". So what I am inquiring to a capable mind is, is it even worth my time to get a copper plate and heat mod the Northbridge or should I just leave it as it is?
Thanks in advance,
Snes

P.S. How did you get the memory clock to 950 without crashing? I can't get over 905! Also, shouldn't you be linking the clocks of the core and shader clock? -
The only reason I inquire about the Northbridge is because that portion of the heatpipe is the start of the channel of the heatpipe. So essentially, any channeled heat from the NB will pass thru the heatpipe which passes by the CPU and out the gills. I am hoping the increased heat dissapation thru the heat pipe, pass the CPU would benefit more than than just the residual with the thermal pad alone. I imagine the results would be insignificant and minascule but I am not aware of the importance of thermal management of the Northbridge.
Should I heat mod my Northbridge?
