A lot of you have seen the free 2GB Ram and 160GB hard drive upgrades on the Dell site for the new Inspirons. Does anyone have any idea how long these offers are going to last? I wanted to see one of the laptops in person before I bought anything (first time buying a laptop), but I don't know if I can pass up the configuration I'm getting:

    Inspiron 1420
    Ruby Red
    Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T7300 (2.0GHz/800Mhz FSB/4MB cache)
Genuine Windows® Vista Home Premium Edition
High Resolution, glossy widescreen 14.1 inch display (1440x900)
    128MB NVIDIA® GeForce® Go 8400M GS
    2GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 at 667MHz
    160GB SATA Hard Drive (5400RPM)
CD / DVD writer (DVD+/-RW Drive)
    Intel Next-Gen Wireless-N Mini-card
    Built-in Bluetooth capability (2.0 EDR)
    Integrated 2.0 Megapixel Webcam
6-cell Primary Battery and 9-cell additional Lithium Ion Battery
    Price: $1,052 (after -$350 coupon)

This is actually more than I was planning on upgrading, but I needed to add some stuff to get the $350 coupon to kick in (I wonder what our old pal Henry would say about that, haha). The only things I'm unsure of are the glossy screen, which I could head over to the mall to check out, and the dedicated graphics card - I don't game, and I'm a little worried about the battery drain and added heat. Would it be that big a deal? Would it help running Vista at all (which I've heard, at least about Aero), or with movies or something?

    Thanks for any help.

Nice configurations for the price. I know Dell can change prices at anytime.
There are other's on this forum who knows a lot more then i do and can give you the information you need.

    I also ordered the 1420.
