I just bought a previously ordered new D610 from the Outlet at a very good price ($869 shipped) coming w/three year next-day on-site servc. My d610 has a sxga+ screen, P-m 1.73ghz, XP-Pro, 64MB ATI x300, 60GB 5400rpm HD, Dell Wireless 1370 b/g, and DVD burner supporting double layer. Now the e1505 was out for less than a grand. D610 weighs about 5.3 lbs while the latter does about 6.18 lbs. My primary use is for basic graduate school work like word processing and excel, and I don't play games. I have to carry my laptop to school on a daily basis.
What's your thought on this? Thanks in advance

I would go with the latitude. The latitude is more durable than the Inspiron series, and is meant to travel daily. The only problem about the latitude is that they are going to be updated to duo core which if you aren't a gamer or need to have the latest technology, you'll be okay with the current D610.

Although I understand your feelings and that's normal feeling especially if you just purchased a notebook then a new model comes out.
If you purchased inspiron series few days ago.. I will suggest to return it and get i6400 or any duo core system to take advantage of the newer technology but yours is not inspiron system. A latitude which is ideal if not better. -
it seems that new lattitude line will be released soon. Maybe you should return 610 and wait for the new lattitudes.
Should I return Dell d610 and buy e1505 instead?
