    Hi,

Right around black friday I ordered a Dell studio with the following specs listed below. It was $1778 with $649 off making an OTD price of $1212 shipped.

I see the I7 is out & I dont believe that was an option for the laptop either. There was also the 20% bing cashback deal which removes another 220 from the price (I dont quite get the math myself but hey).

I am looking at a Studio I7 with the same price but a 3rd year warranty vs my 2nd.

Here are the specs on what I bought & I have about 27 days to decide on what to do.

Really I dont know if its worth a few dollars to end up with potentially older technology on a brand new laptop:

Studio i7 is a better system. You have faster CPU (well, depends on what you are doing) and better video card in ATI 4650. However, there are some issues with the system some users are experiencing, around faulty motherboard/CPU (I don't have that problem). Also, apparently the 900p screen is quite bad according to multiple users so I would recommend 1080p screen, which is excellent. That screen though is delayed to February on new orders.

So it sounds like I should consider sending this one back?

Is there a comparison for the T9600 vs an I7 mobile?

A search on this site doesnt have many results in terms of T9600 which makes me wonder if its worth it.

    Thansk,
    Rich

I would have thought the i7 would spank the T9600.

It does, it's a faster chip on 2 cores with Turbo and it can do 8 threads at once. It is more power hungry and runs hotter.
