Either my E1705’s video card or laptop display went bad. If Dell does not carry the spare parts anymore for the E1705 since they’re switching to new laptops – then maybe I’ll get a new Vostro ? Well, it seems unlikely that Dell wouldn’t have spare parts. Like for current users of the 9300 or older laptops – does Dell have a lot of spare parts for this laptop or other older ones now?

They'll have spare parts. There is no way they are not going to be lay their hands on spare parts.
