Hey guys I just placed my order 2 days ago for the m1530 with a LCD(1680x1050) screen. Should I cancel my order and wait until the LED screen comes out for home buyers?

i think its only going to come with 1400x900...since your using a 1680x1050 you should just stick with what u have.. unless your willing to drop the resolution down..

    Decisions Decisions!
    Whats the return policy?
Would the 1400x900 LED really be that much better?

You cannot tell what you are getting until the system ships to you.
If you want to see 1440x900 LED in action take a stroll down to an Apple store and check out the current MBP's line-up.
However, Dell might use a different manufacturer for their LED WXGA+ displays.

21-Day Return Period for Certain Hardware and Software Products and Accessories: Unless you have a separate agreement with Dell, or except as provided below, all hardware, accessories, peripherals, parts, and media-based software that is unopened and still in its sealed package or, if delivered electronically, that has not been downloaded, may be returned within 21 days from the date on the packing slip or invoice for a credit or a refund of the purchase price paid, less shipping and handling and any applicable restocking fees.

Restocking Fees: Unless the product is defective or the return is a direct result of a Dell error, Dell may charge a restocking fee of up to 15% of the purchase price paid.

If you have a good display - keep it. The gains with the LED can be minimal if you have a nice, sharp, and bright LCD.

Also if you don't have any dead-pixels that should also play into your consideration.

I recently have replaced my M1210 with LCD to M1330 with LED and the difference is absurdly obvious! Of course that tidbit of information didn't help you...

I guess the real question is when the hell is dell going to offer LED for home buyers?

Any guesses? Is it a production issue? Do they usually offer business new hardware first?

I just ordered without LED. I reckon I'll wait until i've compared mine to an LED one and then upgrade the screen myself if I'm really blown away.

But I have to wonder just how much better it will be. And also, they are newer components: might be a plan to sit back and let Dell sort out any teething problems.

Of course I could just be justifying my recent order. :D

How are you going to upgrade the screen? Buy a new LED screen and install it yourself? What screen res did you buy on your latest order?

I just ordered a 1600 but I am really doubting myself about that. I am almost considering canceling my order and waiting for the LED.
