I just ordered a m1530, and im wondering if when i get it i should format and re install?
I hate all the bloatware that will probobly come with, and would love a clean system. Any advice? are there guides available to doing this?
Im worried about it causing conflicts and not having all the drivers available.

There's a ton of info available. Do a forums Search for Dell reformat/reinstall/clean install. You'll find plenty of threads.

There shouldn't be much bloatware on the XPS systems unless you selected a bunch of pre-installed software when configuring. Otherwise, maybe the Google utilities and/or Adobe Reader, and that should be it. And the Dell utilities. But if you want to clean-install, they'll give you the Windows and Drivers discs.
Oh yeah... if you decide to reinstall, here's a guide if you want one (haven't tried it myself though):

I am a fan of doing clean installs from scratch whenever I get my laptops. Go for it, drivers easily available online so there is no reason not to do it.

i am a fan of doing clean installs too, but in the case of the xps...it's not that necessary.
download a cheap partitioning program. repartition the drives. remove a few (like two) software and you're set. it's barely got any bloatware.
but if reinstalling makes your system "feel" cleaner, by all means. -
You dont have to hunt for drivers on the net.
If your going to do a clean Vista install you already have the drivers on the Dell disc. And if thats not enough for you there is a freeware that backs up all drivers installed on your computer.. Go for the jump
Prompt Drivers Backup

I was wondering whether to do this as well. Love the idea of a completely clean system. But ripping into a brand new laptop makes me take pause. Until I fired off some questions to flamenko. I'll be doing a clean install ASAP now.
Should i Re-install vista?
