I wanted to go for a previously ordered new latitude e6400, but should i trust and be comfortable getting a certified refurbished? theyre even cheaper. id rather not go for the dent/scratch ones though.

I got a studio 1537 previous ordered new from the outlet...it runs like a charm and it was $500 less than customizing one new...but im not too sure about the dent/scratch. i have heard mixed reviews about them.

I picked up a flawless 'Previously Ordered New' desktop from the Dell Outlet, I'd say they're pretty reliable. You still get a 1 year warranty anyway.

Get the previously ordered new
That's how a friend of mine orders his!
And, they look nice!

same warranty, even if it is thrashed, you can send it back or get things fixed

I talked to a rep from the Dell Outlet, and he told me that the new computers only go through 2 hours of testing... while the computers in the Dell Outlet go through 4 days of testing to ensure that they are up to spec and don't have any problems with them due to Dell already losing money on them and don't want them to come back a second time.
Combine that with the cheaper prices... it's well worth it. I'm waiting to get my laptop, should be delivered tomorrow. I'll let you all know if there were any issues with it and everything, complete with pictures! -
I'd go for sure with the Refurbs, just like coraldayton said they go through more testing then the normal ones. And the condition of them is awesome.

I bought a inspiron 8200 in 2002 and a XPS 1710 last may. Both were refurb and were great. The 8200 still works like a charm. I would definitely do it again.

so i should be comfortable with refurb AND previously ordered new?
are the refurbs much cheaper than the previously ordered new?
i dont really want to include the scratch and dent category. -
. Go for it be confident in Dell's outlet. A friend of mine used to be shaky about it when his laptop arrived I couldn't tell the difference between it or a new one AT ALL!

I have purchased two Certified Refurbished laptops from Dell now. An XPS M140 a few years back and a Precision M4400 last month. Never had a single problem with the M140 and am loving the M440 thus far. Both looked (and smelled, haha) brand new and the warranty is nice. Plus, I configured an M4400 with the same setup I have new and it would have cost over $1800, I paid $860 with 2nd day shipping.
As others have said, they seem to be well tested and for me, problem free. I recommend Dell's cert. refurbs to others all the time, particularly when you find a 20% (or more) off code. -

Also, by buying from the outlet you will get it much faster because they dont have to build it, ship it from across the glob to the states then to your house. The outlet is located here in the states and they usually ship out the same day.
I purchased my laptop off the outlet for the first time. I always bought new before. I will never buy new again, i am that satisfied with the outlet! -
I have no need to buy new. -
you guys are spot on...i ordered at like 12am this morning, and it shipped already, a day before the estimate.
Should i be comfortable ordering a certified refurbished laptop from the dell outlet?
