Hey guyz im planning on ordering a 1520 myself, i see some people bought the investment protection plan for 2 years. Is it really worth it? Its kinda pricey (300 dollars right? or was it 200 i forget). I never had a laptop b4 do they break down on you or anything?

I bought the 3 year return to depot. Basically, the components are soo tight together that they are prone to overheating, possibly hurting the hardware. Also, laptops will be carried aroung so they are more likely to be mis-used. If you have the money, Id suggest it but remember you have a year to renew your warranty so you can see what kind of shape the notebook is in.

Itd be good to have some people reply with more notebook experience though...

warranty will always be better than none. i got 3 years myself and let me tell you that Dell computers have about a 16% failure rate I believe. that's just failure, parts breaking is much more common. this is more economics, how much are you willing to pay to have a peace of mind that your computer will be fixed when broken in the future?
