Hello all, i am having a hard time deciding my configuration for a inspiron 13"
i noticed that the Refurbished laptop have a Great price $609, 2.0 intel core 2 duo,4gb,320gb,6cell,Dell 1395 802.11G Wireless Mini Card.
For that price it seems to good to be truth, but i have no experience with refurbished laptop.
What is causing me confusion is, if i should go for a new laptop that has ,2.0ghz(same cpu), 3gb,250gb,intel next gen wireless N, 9 cell battery
for $779, all because the $10 for the wireless and 70$ for the battery
and it has a 195$ discount already of the original price.
The point is, if i should risk the almost 300 for the 9 cell battery and wireless N(which i probaly don't need) and because is *NEW*

I personally would choose no. The 9 cell is nice, but not worth an extra $200, when you lose out on the extra 1gb RAM and the 70gb of hdd. Are there no refurbished ones that have the 9 cell and wireless N?
I just bought a refurbished laptop, I'm on my 3rd day with it, and so far its been great (though 3 days is hardly long enough for much to go wrong!) -
how much did you payed for yours, and specs
EDIT: NVM found one with 9 cell and wireless N, SO happy, hope is not scratched -
Well, for greater battery life, definitely go for the 9 cell.

The 9 cell is going to add some weight and stick out, but if you are looking for additional mobility then it would be a good choice. -
And, here is a review of the I13...The last picture attached in the review has a *side view* of the 9 cell...it doesn't look bad at all!

Dell 9 cell 85whr battery is one of the best you can buy.
even Apple's 17" MBP comes with a 8 cell and its only 65whr probably because they don't offer any extended battery solutions they must be perfectly flat to the Mac Book Pro. and Its like $170.
Besides, Dell will warranty replace your battery with a new one at the Drop of a hat, as long as you email Executive customer services. free of charge -
I'd go for the 9-cell. The wireless N card will most likely have quite a bit more range than the g card. This is something to consider.
-
go for the 9 cell. BEsides the WiFI N cards are much more energy efficient that 802.11b or 802.11g.

You guys been great, thank you for the opinion.

The 9 cell??

I have the I13, which came with a nine cell battery, which I hate.
The thing is huge and heavy. In my case, it made it so I couldn't fit the computer in my laptop bag without first removing the battery. It seriously detracts from the portability of the machine.
The first thing I did when I bought this computer was order a six cell. In my case, I didn't have a choice on which battery came with the machine, as it was a pre-built model from Best Buy.
Here's a link to a thread from few months ago, where we were previously discussing this very issue. I'm linking to a page that includes pictures that I took of my I13 with both batteries. Do yourself a favor and read this thread:

I already went for the 9 cell.....too bad, For me it won't bother me because in my university library the electric plug are always full, emo's playing video games.
But my girlfriend......might complain a bit, we were going to share it, to split the bill in half. Lets see how it goes for me when i get it. -
The 9 cell batteries on inspiron 13's stick out at the back, looks very ugly, makes it heavier and less portable.
I will get the 9 cell battery eventually, I'll keep it in the laptop bag incase I'm ever stranded anywhere without a power source, but it is too ugly to keep it around 100% of the time. Besides the 6 cell battery is already very good, with win XP it's around 4.5 with some heavy browsing and minor office apps. I was thinking of just have two 6 cells actually. -
Keep us advised!
