I don't know, there are occasionally 30-35% off deals on the I6000. But jeez, you've loaded up on fluffy crap: MS Office, PSP suite, Norton Internet Security, etc. There are freeware alternatives to all of those: Use OpenOffice.org in place of MS Office; a combinationg of AVG Free Edition, Ad-Aware SE Personal, and the Windows SP2 Firewall in place of that crappy Norton thing *shudder*; and...ok, maybe there isn't a better option than PSP if you need it. Still that should save you $250 right there.

Also, the WUXGA screen is going to be squint city. That high a resolution on a 15.4" screen is inviting eyestrain. WXGA+ is fine for me on a 17" screen; WUXGA on a 15.4" is insane. Try WSXGA for a decent mix of desktop space and visibility, although even that may be a bit large...

Also, don't buy the RAM from Dell. Just get the minimum amount and upgrade it yourself. For the price of 1GB of Dell's RAM you could have 2GB of Transcend from newegg.com and $40 in your pocket.

Finally...a quicksnap cover? Come on, why now?

With all the money you save, you could upgrade the processor a couple notches, probably a good idea for graphics and DVD editing (I assume you do these things because of some of your software choices (PSP, Sonic, etc.).

There's no way in...well, there's no way I'd spend that kind of dough on the i6000. Don't get me wrong, it's a fine machine, but at only half that price. I don't know what you want to do with that machine, but it's probably not the best fit. Or...are those numbers in Canadian?

Yeah, that is what I spent on my i9300, and that is with a four year warranty. You are spending more than what the i6000 is.

You can save some money by just sticking with the 6-cell battery as your primary and buying the 9-cell as an additional battery. This will save a lot of money, because you can put the 9-cell in as your primary battery, and save the 6-cell for those times that you absolutely need it. I cannot think of many reasons why you would need 6 plus hours of batttery life. That is what I did, and between the two of them, I got 5 plus hours out of my i9300, which I got for about the same price that you are paying. Hope that this saves you some money.

if you want to save the money on the RAM upgrade....the memory change is easy to do. You only have to remove two screws and remove the old sticks, insert new sticks. We can give you advice on what type to get etc. as well as directions is on Dell's website. And it does not void your warranty.

    just an idea...

Even if you do want all that crap, 25% off is not a good deal. Wait for one of the 30% or 35% coupons.

35% off should knock another $350 off or so. But wow, that's still $2050 or so for a 6000.
