And where would I find a standalone installer for the software if I ever wanted to reinstall in the future. It's an ALPS touchpad for the record.
Just seeing if uninstalling it will let me edit my logitech mouse's buttons.

I have the logitech MX610 mouse and, before my clean install, had the logitech software and Dell's touchpad software both installed and running and there were no problems. The only benefit I see from the Dell touchpad software is that it enables you to turn off the touchpad if you have an external mouse installed.
Now I just have the touchpad software installed, as Vista recognizes the forward/back and side-scrolling buttons, so I saw no need to install logitech's software.
And the touchpad software is on your "Dell Drivers and Utilities" Disk. -
Or can be downloaded from Dell.

That too

Damn. I was hoping to be able to turn it off. Kinda annoying with a mouse and typing

Agreed. But installing the logitech software won't override or interfere with the touchpad software, so why not have them both installed?
Side affect of uninstalling the Dell Touchpad software?
