    Hi there,

    i have a dell lattitude D630 laptop with Sigmatel 9205 HD Audio Driver and when i wanted to use stereo mix so i could mix my music over the program Paltalk i found that Dell had disabled the stereo mix option in their driver packages.

    after alot of searching i found that you can enable this yourself using the Dell R171789 package off the dell website

    http://ftp.dell.com/audio/R171789.exe

    then once you have extracted the package, cancel the installer, and goto C:\Dell\Drivers\R171789\WDM

    open the file 92XXM2-2.inf

    scroll or edit>find : [HKR\Settings\filter\Rear]

    where you see the values:

    DigitalInputMonitor = hex: 0
    DigitalStereoMix = hex: 0
    EnableInputMonitor = hex: 0

    change them to 1 and save the INF file.

    after you have done this you can go back a directory and run setup.exe to install the driver.

    this will install the default driver with stereo mix enabled :D

    hope this is helpful to someone out there, took me alot of searching to get this :D
